Question #1 How will this course be graded?
The gradable components of this course are the online quizzes, the discussion forum responses and the writing assignments. There are four lessons in this course and each lesson is worth 25% of the overall grade. The total marks for this course will be out of 100 and expressed as a percentage.
Your interim grades for the course while the course is underway will be posted in the Progress section of the e-learning platform.
Your final grades will be based on the following course grading criteria.
80-100%: Distinction (A)
70-79% : Excellent (B)
60-69% : Good (C)
51-59% : Average (D)
0-50% : Below Average (F)
Question #2 How can I receive a Course Certificate ?
The course certificate is jointly issued by THEOn and Third Millenium ministries. A Course Completion certificate will only be issued to enrolled students who have paid the course fees and completed all mandatory requirements of the course.
These requirements are
1) Achieve an average grade of 50% in all the online quizzes.
2) Actively participate in all discussion forums. Active particiation is seen as posting a direct response of 200 words and atleast two other posts of atleast 100 words each.
3) Submit all Reflection exercises by the stipulated deadlines.
4) Complete the course on time as per the course schedule and adhere to any other guidelines as issued by the course Instructors/Facilitators.
Question #3 How will the course be delivered ?
The course will be delivered fully online. All course content is delivered electronically. All instruction videos, learning/reading material, discussion forums and quizzes are accessible through the Open edX platform. The Course Content is divided into 4 lessons. Each lesson has instruction videos, a discussion forum, readiing exercises, quizzes and a reflection assignment. Students are encouraged to read the lesson instructions first and then proceed to view the course videos, attempt the quizzes, contribute to the discussion forum and then submit a reflection essay on the given question. This is a 8 week course with each unit spanning 2 weeks. The student is expected to adhere to the set course deadlines.
Question #4 How much time will I need to commit per week?
We recommend setting aside a minimum of 5 hours per week. You may need additional time for a more in-depth study of the topics that would be covered in each lesson. This course consists of 4 lessons and each lesson will span 2 weeks. The entire course will span 8 weeks. This is a cohort based course comprising of many other students who are also co-learning simultaneously and so the student is urged to progress according to the set timelines of the course.
Question #5 How can I contact the course instructors ?
The course instructors will be actively involved in the running of the course. They are available to assist you with any queries you may have about the course or its content. Question #6 What is the purpose of the Wiki ?
The Wiki is a repository of articles, videos, blog posts from external sources that would be of some spiritual benefit to the readers. The content in the Wiki will build up over a period of time as students, facilitators and faculty add to it as the course progresses forward. Students are welcome to post content and links to useful information (preferably that which is directly related to the course) that they may come across during the course of their study, ensuring they adhere to the general guidelines about posting in the Wiki and duly acknowledging the source/author or the content. Question #7 How do I view my progress in the course ?
Click on the Progress link on the top tab to view your upto date progress in this course. You will be able to see your Grades in this section.
